Admission Interview

Interview of Parents as well as of the Kid is a process of investigating the expectations of the parents as well as the kids. This interview helps school management and parents to develop a bridge for the convenience ofthe kid. Through this process, the school can convey its policies and procedures to the parents and schedulea date for the Admission Assessment for the kid. The kid must be accompanied by at least one parent on thedate of the interview/assessment. We do not entertain anyone other than the parents of an applicant at thetime of the interview. If the parent(s) are unable to attend the appointed interview/assessment, a new datemust be requested promptly from the admission office.

Admission Assessment

All students seeking admission must for qualify the ‘Admission Assessment and an interview. Early Year Program - I (EYP-I) is exclusive of the Admission Assessment but an Interview of the Parent as well as of the kid is necessary. Moreover, the prospective students must obtain a school leaving certificate or the progress and promotion report from the previous school to be eligible for admission in the next grade. The AdmissionAssessment is general/informal in nature and aimed to better evaluate the students’ suitability for the recommended grade and is only aimed to understand student academic needs and areas of strength and study support. The Assessment is based on the general understanding and knowledge of the subject level forthe grade he/she is seeking admission for. As a result of Admission Assessment and interview, where the student is not found suitable for the admission into the grade for which admission is being sought, the possibility of accepting him/her in any other grade will not be considered unless the student is re-assessed for the particular grade. For inter-board transfers, students are expected to obtain a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the previous Board within Pakistan.

Language Criteria For Admission Process

At The Democratic School, the medium of instruction is English at all levels. At the time of admission,a student is assessed that he/she is feeling easy to approach the curriculum within a given timeframe by maintaining an English language learning culture. Proof of English proficiency is required from learners at the time of admission. In the next step, a learner is asked to attempt an English language assessment test. Those learners who qualify for the test are granted admission inthe suitable grade according to the outcome of their assessment
